Greek Souvlaki aka Pork Shish-Kabobs

These sound fancier and harder to make than they are. It's basically marinated pork on a stick. Not too scary. I wanted to share these before it gets too cold to use your BBQ grill. You could also cook these in your oven. They are delicious with lemon juice squeezed over them before serving.Greek Souvlaki2 lbs. pork roast cut into bite sized chunksAccent or Season Salt1 1/2 tsp. salt1/2 tsp. pepper1/2 Tbsp. garlic powder1 1/2 tsp. garlic salt olive oilwhatever veggies you want to addMix all … [Read more...]

Hand Pies

Hand Pies

To go along with last week's post are these delicious hand pies. I will bet you will want more than one. You use the same pie dough and add your favorite pie filling instead of the meat mixture of the previous post. So easy and so good. I chose to make these with raspberry pie filling, since my husband likes rasperries. You could use lemon, blueberry, or make your own such as strawberry-rhubarb. Any filling you would use in a traditional pie can be used here. No plates or forks needed. Hand … [Read more...]

Natchitoches Meat Pies

Natchitoches Meat Pies are at the top of my list of dinner foods. My kids ask for them, that's why. When that happens, whatever it is goes on the permanent menu. The pie crust is so flaky and just makes it taste so good. They aren't hard to make, so give them a try. Thanks to Our Best Bites for sharing these. They are a winner. I changed it a little to fit my family's taste. Natchitoches Meat Pies   Print Prep time 30 mins Cook time 30 mins Total time 1 hour   … [Read more...]

Review with CSN Stores

I love CSN Stores! They are an awsome company. Why? Because they asked me to do another review. I love getting something for free, who wouldn't? They have such awesome stuff and over 200 stores online. Upholstered dining chairs, kid's toys and games (Christmas is just around the corner), and much more. Go take a look. They offer free shipping on many items. I chose to review this Le Creuset 8 qt. stock pot. I have a casserole dish from them in the same color. I ordered it today and it already … [Read more...]

Tag! I’m it…

Michelle over at All Home Cooking. All Year Long. has tagged me in a game called Eight to the Eight to the Eight. Short Stack Cookies

I love an author by the name of Joanne Fluke. She writes these great books that are known as culinary mysteries. They are mysteries with some kind of cooking, baking, etc. in the storyline. I read one called Blueberry Muffin Murder and found the recipe for these Short Stack Cookies in it. These cookies may make your kids think this... But don't be fooled. These are cookies. They taste like little pancakes with butter and maple syrup on them. Or rather, in them. Short Stack … [Read more...]

Spinach Salad with Poppy Seed Dressing

I love love love this salad! I actually grew spinach in my garden this year just so I could make this salad anytime I wanted. Not kidding. My neighbor made this for a church dinner and I asked her for the recipe right then. Only I had to wait a few weeks to get it because she left for England the next day. Those were some long weeks. I made this salad the day after I finally got this recipe. Now, you can make this as the recipe says if you are serving it to a group of people, or you can do like … [Read more...]
