Cure those chocolate cravings with a batch of these easy Dark Chocolate Ganache Truffles. Made with just three ingredients, you can whip them up day or night – whenever those chocolate cravings hit.
Hi friends, it’s Jess here from Sweetest Menu ready to share another treat with you that is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth. These easy chocolate truffles will delight any chocoholic.
What I love most about these decadent truffles is how easy they are to throw together. Plus you probably have all three ingredients sitting in your pantry or fridge right now. They are delightfully rich but this recipe is only for a small batch so you don’t have to worry about making, rolling and eating 50 truffles. This recipe will make only about 10, the perfect amount to get you through the week.
These soft cocoa coated truffles have a smooth and creamy texture. You could easily double the recipe and make them for a party as a delicious after-dinner treat. They can even be served cold straight from the fridge. Chocolate ganache really is a wonderful creation and these truffles will make all your chocolate dreams come true. So what are you waiting for? Lets make some truffles!
- 1 cup good quality dark chocolate
- ½ cup heavy or thickened cream
- ⅓ cup cocoa powder
- Finely chop the dark chocolate and place in a heatproof bowl. In a small saucepan, add the cream and place on a medium heat until the cream is simmering but just before it starts to boil. Immediately pour the warm cream over the chocolate, cover the bowl with a plate and leave it to sit for 3-5 minutes.
- Then, whisk the chocolate cream mixture until smooth and creamy. Transfer the chocolate ganache into a small but deep container, cover with plastic wrap and place in the freezer for at least two hours. Sift the cocoa powder into a separate bowl.
- Once the ganache has become firm, remove from the freezer and use a cookie scoop or a teaspoon to spoon out the truffles and roll them smooth in your hands. Drop them into the cocoa powder and roll around until completely coated before removing and setting on a plate. Continue until all truffles are done. Store in the fridge.
