I'm sure by now that many of you have heard of green smoothies. Made with spinach or other greens and fruit that are so healthy (so much so, in fact, that I'm not sure why it's appearing on my blog!) and full of fiber and iron and protein if you use peanut butter. Tropical Smoothie
I am sneaking in one more summer-y treat. This smoothie is one that can be made anytime of the year since it uses frozen fruit. Although you may not be in the mood for one come winter. Strawberry Julius
Somehow I deleted this post so here it is again. Super refreshing and perfect using the strawberries I froze. Just thaw and add to the other ingredients and blend it up.Strawberry Julius1 c. water1 c. milk1 c. sugar1 tsp. vanill extract1 pound strawberries*1 tray of iceMix all in a blender.*You can make this into an orange julius by substituting a small can of frozen orange juice concentrate for the strawberries. Miss Polly’s Punch
1 pkg lemonade Kool Aid1 gallon size freezer bag2 C sugar1 lg can of pineapple juice, cold1 qt. water2 liters Ginger aleMix Kool Aid, sugar, & water well. Pour into freezer bag & freeze at least 48 hours. Ginger ale & Pineapple juice should be cold. Remove mixture from freezer 30 min before serving. Mash bag til slushy & put into a punch bowl.
