Sloppy Joes

June 13, 2009 by mandyrecipebox

This is out of one of our community cookbooks and once you try it, you’ll never use Manwich again! That’s all I used to use until I tasted this. I like mine with a slice of american cheese on top but you’ll love this, I promise! You can freeze the leftovers (I just stick mine in ziploc bags) and then just heat them up on the stove in a saucepan or in the microwave with a microwave safe dish.

3 lbs ground beef
3 cans tomato soup
1 onion, chopped
green pepper (optional)
garlic salt to taste
1/4 c brown sugar
2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp prepared mustard
1 Tbsp vinegar
Brown the onion, pepper, and beef. Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer about 1 hour. Serve on buns. Makes about 25-30 servings. Sometimes I just use 2 lbs ground beef and 2 cans of soup, but you might as well do the whole recipe and just freeze the rest if you won’t use it up that fast. No cooking on another night!
