All opinions are 100% mine. When I was little, I remember going out into our little garden and picking fresh cherry tomatoes and hunting for zucchini in the big plants. The cherry tomatoes were warm from the sun and I loved how they exploded as I bit into them. The zucchini was my favorite, though. My mom would slice it up and dip it into eggs and flour and then fry it in butter. I still cook it that way and … [Read more...]

Chocolate Cake Donuts
Chocolate Cake Donuts are a great donut to make for your first time. They are very easy and really can't be messed up. Top with frosting and sprinkles and everything is right in the world. I go on kicks of things I like and eat them all the time. Then I go on another kick and eat that. Like donuts. Or doughnuts. Whatever. This isn't a spelling class, it's a food blog. Ok, actually doughnuts are the original fried dough version. Please don't get mad and send me emails about the subject. … [Read more...]

You know those chocolate covered cherries aka Cherry Cordials? Ew. I love maraschino cherries, but not like that. They make me gag. I can eat maraschino cherries plain or on a shake or in stuff, but not chocolate covered cherries. These Cherry Almond Cookies have bits of maraschino cherries in them and they pair perfectly with almond extract. Chicken and Wild Rice Soup
Chicken and Wild Rice Soup is perfect for a rainy day. It's good to the soul. Yesterday I was able to take Preston and Emma's school group picture. Now if you have been reading my blog for a while, you know that the school is very small. Like 12 kids total. It has kindergarten through 3rd grade. We live in the very rural middle of nowhere part of Southeast Idaho. They get homemade lunches and I love it. It was a cold day for pictures, though. The poor kids. It is hard enough getting all the … [Read more...]

It also had Peppermint Whipped Cream on it. So amazing. I love it in the winter because of the Peppermint, but it's also good any time of the year.
