Mom’s Sugar Cookies

March 28, 2009 by mandyrecipebox

This is my mom’s recipe and I can’t eat any other sugar cookies–they can’t compare to these!

1 egg
1/2 c. sour cream
1 stick butter, softened(not margerine)
1c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
Mix ingredients thoroughly and add:
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
Mix all together and roll out onto a floured surface. Cut into shapes. Place on pan sprayed with Pam. Bake at 375 for 8-12 min. Don’t let them brown. Makes 2 dozen.
*You can sprinkle with sugar sprinkles just before you put in the oven or frost them after.
 Frosting:
2 Tbsp. margerine, softened
2c. powdered sugar
2 1/2 c. milk
1/4 tsp. salt.
Mix and add food coloring if you want. Spread over cooled cookies.
