Nothing will make a child happier than these Homemade Slurpees. You can make them in practically any flavor!
I love Slurpees from 7-11. Love them like a love song. But the nearest one is umm…over 80 miles away. So when I came across this recipe, I had to try it. It doesn’t make me think, “Hey this tastes just like a real Slurpee!” But it is a tasty drink that my kids loved. The best part is that you can make it into any flavor you like {as long as Kool-Aid makes that flavor}. Summer is possibly winding down, so we’re gonna make this a few more times until it just isn’t right to make it in the fall.
Homemade Slurpees
Author: Mandy Bird
Ingredients
- 1 packet of Kool-Aid, any flavor
- 2 c. Club Soda
- ½ c. sugar
- 2½ c. crushed ice
Directions
- Put the Kool-Aid powder, sugar, and 1 c. Club Soda in a blender. Process till smooth and dissolved.
- Add the ice and blend until smooth.
- Add the remaining cup of Club Soda and blend. It should be slushy, but put it in the freezer for about 30-45 minutes to thicken up.
Oooh love this! PINNED.
I've made these, too! Sooo tasty on a hot summer day. Love the cute straws and the jars, nice touch.
Yum! I just had a watermelon one yesterday at the beach!
WOW! I don't think I've ever seen a recipe for homemade slurpees. My grandkids are really gonna love me now. =) Thanks so much –
I loooooved slurpees as a kiddo! We used to get em at 7-eleven all the time! Wish we still had one here! Your pics are awesome!!!
Mm, I love slurpees from 7-11! The sugar free ones are my fave 🙂 but these kinda remind me of Slush Puppies… have you ever had one? They're thicker and kind of grittier in texture than Slurpees are, but REALLY saturated with flavor and SUPER yummy. My boyfriend actually likes slush puppies better than slurpees! I am SO making these!!
Nice, my girls love slurpees and I refuse to go out and get them when the weather goes below 40 degrees, now they will be excited to know we can make them at home. 🙂
Excellent! I craved slurpees when I was pregnant and have loved them ever since. Thanks for the recipe!
I can't wait to try this! With all the milkshakes we've been making this summer, hubby has been begging me to make a slushie (we don't have 7-11 or slurpies here in Georgia) I think I'll surprise him when he comes in from work tomorrow! Better than a cocktail! Pinned.
super fun! My boys would love these, I love the colors and your photos are great :o)
My kids are going to love these! Thanks so much for sharing at Mix it up Monday 🙂
I need to make these for the kids before it gets too cold to enjoy them!!! Love the bright colors and the fun straws:-)

Mandy, this recipe is a hit! My son just made these for everyone using Pink lemonade (it's what I had in the cabinet.) So good!!!!
I love these, but there is no 7-11 in my area. Now I can make my own! Thanks for the recipe. How much does 1 recipe serve?
It makes 2 big ones or 4 smaller Slurpees.
Me and my best friend did this today and it was amazing! Thankyou sooo much!
I’m glad you liked them! 🙂
I loved slurpees as a kid. This is totally bringing me back to childhood!
