FoodSaver Vacuum Sealer System: New Fave Tool

October 14, 2015 by mandyrecipebox

This post was sponsored by the FoodSaver® Brand through their partnership with POPSUGAR Select. While I was compensated to write a post about the FoodSaver® Vacuum Sealer System, all opinions are my own.

You guys! I am so very excited to show you my new favorite kitchen tool: The FoodSaver® Vacuum Sealer System. I have wanted one for a long time and am happy to have one. I have already been having so much fun with it. I am eager to vacuum seal all the things. I was a little scared at first to get started, but it’s so easy. Trust me: if I can use this so can you.

There are quick start instructions on the inside of the lid where you place the roll of sealer bags. It comes with an instruction book as well that explains all you need to know.

It came with an assortment of rolls and bags to get me started. I love the jar vacuum sealer that came with it. You can put whatever you want into mason jars (salad!) and screw on the lid and ring, put on the jar sealer and use the nifty attachment hose seal it. I can’t wait to make salads in a jar and keep them in the fridge for lunches. You use the same attachment to seal the zipper bags. We started with cheese.

Just place your food into the bag, place the attachment over the designated spot and press the accessory button. Bam. You can use pre-cut bags or make your own with the rolls. I made some for my tortillas. You just insert one end and let it seal it, place your food inside (leaving 5 inches of room), press the “dry” button and insert the open end to vacuum seal.

I also sealed some steaks. The FoodSaver® Vacuum Sealer System is a must if you buy meat in bulk. It will keep freezer burn away and save you so much money. You just press the “moist” button before sealing. I used the Liquid Block bag for this.

It is kind of loud when the machine is sealing so keep that in mind when using. I just make sure not to use it when my little guy is napping. Other than that, it’s been amazing and I highly recommend getting one. Food storage has never been more fun!

I found these Do’s and Don’ts that are very handy to know on the FoodSaver® Brand’s website. There are certain foods that can’t be vacuum sealed like soft cheese and mushrooms. Check it out for more info.
