This Creamy Cheesy Chicken Noodle Soup is such a cozy soup for a cold day. Make it all through the cold months to make the seasons even better. Soooo. Snow. It's coming. Maybe it's already hitting your area. Honestly, I've decided to ban it from coming to my house. That's really all there is to it. I have no use for scraping the snow or ice off my car in the mornings before I drive on the freeway for 4o minutes to my other job. Nor do I want to drive in the snow or slush on the freeway. So … [Read more...]
Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup
It's definitely soup season in Utah right now! Make this Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup to warm you up on those cold nights. Perfectly comforting. The other day I went to leave for work and my car door was frozen shut. As was the key hole on the door. I really hate winter. I don't mind the snow and cozy warm house at Christmas but now that it's over, I'm all about Spring and being able to walk out the door and not instantly having my eyeballs turn to ice. … [Read more...]
Chicken and Dumplings
As a kid I didn't really appreciate classic comfort foods. My comfort foods were candy, cold cereal and pizza. It wasn't until I was older that I truly knew and enjoyed true comfort food! Like this Chicken and Dumplings. Hey, it's Amy from My Name is Snickerdoodle! Comfort foods like Sunday Roast, Chicken Broccoli Bake, and Chicken Fried Chicken totally come to mind now. Granted, I don't eat comfort foods as often as I would like or else I would have to have 4 hours naps every day! … [Read more...]

Chicken Orzo Soup
Ever since I made Chicken and Orzo, I have fallen in love with orzo pasta. It looks like rice, but it really is pasta. So this time I decided to make it in Chicken Orzo Soup. Of course it was delicious. And it's the perfect food for Isaac since I don't have to cut it into little pieces. It already is in little pieces. Little delicious pieces. Chicken Orzo Soup Print Author: Mandy Bird : Main Ingredients 2 chicken breasts, cooked and cubed or shredded 2 Tbsp. olive … [Read more...]
Chicken and Wild Rice Soup
Chicken and Wild Rice Soup is perfect for a rainy day. It's good to the soul. Yesterday I was able to take Preston and Emma's school group picture. Now if you have been reading my blog for a while, you know that the school is very small. Like 12 kids total. It has kindergarten through 3rd grade. We live in the very rural middle of nowhere part of Southeast Idaho. They get homemade lunches and I love it. It was a cold day for pictures, though. The poor kids. It is hard enough getting all the … [Read more...]
White Chicken Chili {in broth}
I have seen recipes for White Chicken Chili floating around and I have a confession. I have never eaten White Chicken Chili. I have wanted to, but just never got around to making it. I told myself this year I would do it. And I did. Only it's not the regular creamy version. It's a broth version and I loved it. It reminded me of Taco Soup. I loved it topped with plain greek yogurt and shredded cheddar cheese. Then I crunched up some tortilla chips and stuck those in. I love that my family loved … [Read more...]
Creamy Chicken Noodle Soup
I am posting an actual non-sweet recipe today. I get so excited for the Christmas season and the treats, but by the time Christmas comes, I've had my share of sweets. I am about to that point. Almost. This soup is just like your traditional Chicken Noodle soup only a creamy version. It's so comforting. Preston was Santa in his school Christmas program. Since it is such a small school, we have a nice dinner afterwards for the guests. We're talking a sit down meal like ham or … [Read more...]
