Tex-Mex Bake
I was going through my Gooseberry Patch Homestyle Favorites cookbook when I came across this recipe. As I looked to see whose recipe it was, I was surprised to see the name Jenny Flake! Not really surprised, because she's that awesome, but you know what I mean. Jenny is the Jenny from Picky Palate. I adore that girl and her site. This recipe is one of her family's favorites, and I can see why. So delicious. It reminds me of chicken enchiladas, only not rolled up. My picky eaters even liked it. … [Read more...]
Creamy Broccoli Side Dish
Creamy Broccoli Side Dish is a great way to use broccoli. It is sort of a mini casserole and you could surely add chicken and make it a main dish. A side story about Emma and her broccoli...a family friend wanted Emma to go play with her. She's 9. Emma wouldn't do it. She wanted to stay with me. Sausage Corn & Broccoli Bake {Totally Tasty Tuesdays}
So I'm not completely sure what this is. It tastes like breakfast, but I don't eat broccoli in any of my breakfast foods. It has sausage and corn in it, too. I made this for dinner and it just confused me. It was absolutely tasty, but my mouth wasn't expecting such a breakfasty taste at dinner time. Don't get me wrong. Reuben Casserole {Totally Tasty Tuesdays}
A few weeks ago, I was able to go to the Taste of Home Cooking School. It was a blast! If you ever get the chance, go to one. The instructor made some pretty great looking dishes. This is one of them. I love a Reuben Sandwich. I love everything about it. Sauerkraut, corned beef or pastrami, cheese, rye bread...oh yes. This is all those put into a casserole with noodles. I forgot the bread crumbs on this, but it was still mighty tasty. I love casseroles. So easy and so comforting. The … [Read more...]

Chicken and Broccoli Casserole
Broccoli is my favorite vegetable, I believe. Right there with fresh corn on the cob. My mother-in-law made this dish for a church dinner and I went home and looked up the recipe on Kraft Food's website. I made it for dinner the next night since my family wasn't at the dinner to taste it. So good... And I got to use my new Le Creuset baking dish I received from CSN Stores. I love it! It is my new favorite thing! It is stoneware and so easy to clean. It can go in the dishwasher, too. Love it and … [Read more...]
Chicken Pot Pie
This is one of the ultimate comfort foods to me. Chicken Pot Pie is just scrumptious. Especially this one. I use corn, peas, carrots, and potatos in mine. You can use whatever veggies you like. Green beans, etc. The topping doesn't get all soggy from being on the filling, which I wouldn't mind, but some would. It is a whole meal in one unless you wanted to add a salad to it. But who needs that when all the yummy goodness is right here? Printable Version Chicken Pot Pie Filling: 4 Tbsp. … [Read more...]
