Homemade Flour Tortillas are so easy to make that you need to add them to your Mexican meals. Slather them with butter and be amazed. I come from a Hispanic background. My grandparents were hispanic and my dad is. So homemade tortillas were common at our table. They are so easy to make, faster than bread. All you do is mix, roll, cook. A Tortilla Press helps speed things up, but a rolling pin does the job just fine. Flour Tortillas Print Author: Mandy Bird … [Read more...]
Oh So Delicious Breadsticks
I got these from Our Best Bites and they are my favorite! You can also use this recipe for pizza dough like on these Pizza Rolls. The topping combined with the dipping sauce puts any restaurant's breadsticks to shame. Or leave off the garlic topping and just brush with butter when they come out of the oven and serve with soup. This is such a forgiving dough so you can't mess it up, trust me!Breadsticks1 1/2 c. warm (105-115 degrees) water1 Tbsp. sugar1 Tbsp. yeast1/2 tsp. salt3-4 1/2 c. flourIn … [Read more...]

Whole Wheat Banana Bread
I found this on My Food Storage Deal's blog. It is so yummy! You can also just use all purpose flour too or half and half, but the wheat version tasted really good and not all "healthy". Still an indulsion! It makes 1 loaf.1 ¼ c. sugar½ c. margarine1 c. banana pulp (2 bananas)4 T. sour cream (you can use plain yogurt too, but once I was out of both and used vanilla yogurt and skipped the tsp of vanilla. Worked just fine!)2 eggs1 ½ c. flour1 t. soda1 t. vanilla½ t. saltCream butter and sugar … [Read more...]
