It sounds like you live where we do…we have to travel 30 mins for just about everything! Therefore, I make monthly trips to Sam's Club and buy things in bulk to help save money for our family of 5.

I stopped working after I had my daughter so to save money for our family of 5, I try to clip coupons etc but the most money saving for me is that I like to buy a large roast or whole chicken. Then I can serve the roast on night one then repurpose it into a new recipe on night 2. I'm not big on leftovers of the same so repurposing it is more like a new meal. Say for instance I make a beef

We usually do our grocery shopping at night, so that morning I will look at the weekly ads ad see what is on sale. I will usually plan a meal or two and what cereal to buy based on what is on sale.

We save money by planning meals in advance and making sure we buy it all in one shopping trip. Then I divide up the meats and vegetables and freeze them in portions. Doing all this after I get home from shopping also cuts back on prep time, since I can just pull out the ziploc the day I plan to make the meal and defrost it, then it's ready to be cooked and I don't have to prep anything.
