Baklava Cookies

December 17, 2014 by mandyrecipebox

These Baklava Cookies have the great taste of Baklava in cookie form. The center is delicious enough to eat alone! Perfectly sweet and chewy.

Baklava Cookies

Have you ever even seen how they make Baklava? I’m pretty sure it takes eleventy-nine days. All the flaky layers filled with the baklava filling. Have you ever counted the layers? I’m pretty sure there are no less than 43 layers. Guys. These cookies are awesome. I mean come on. Look at the centers! You really could just grab a spoon and eat the filling alone. Or bake some pie crust strips and dip them in it. Christmas is in one week. One weeeeeek! I am so ready. I’ve learned to let go of the commercial/stressful/what do I give so-and-so for Christmas part of it and just love the true meaning of Christmas. It’s about Jesus Christ. And being with family and watching the magic light up my children’s eyes. That’s why I love Christmas.

Haha you’re so right! Being from Lebanese origin, I can confirm that Baklava does take forever to make. These cookies seem to be the perfect way to get the same flavor in so much less time! I saved the recipe for my next big family dinner!

Baklava Cookies: I made the Amish sugar cookie recipe and then followed your Baklava cookies recipe. The sugar cookies were extremely soft, but with the honey nut & syrup topping really tasted great. My last batch I poured into a buttered 8×8 pan, baked for 15 min. I made more honey pecan syrup but added 3 Tbsp. of lemon juice and brought it to a boil for several minutes. I poured it on top of the cooled squared batter. IT WAS SO…. much like Baklava. Thought you might want to try it too. Thank you for sharing here. Your recipes look yummy!
