- 1 (15.5 oz.) package of Oreo cookies
- ½ c. butter, melted
- 2 pkg. (3.9 oz each) Chocolate Instant Pudding
- 3¼ c. cold milk
- 2 containers (8 oz. each) Cool Whip
- 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
- 1 c. powdered sugar
- Crush all Oreo cookies in a food processor until crushed. You could also put the cookies in a large resealable bag and crush using a rolling pin. That's what I did. I don't have a food processor and a blender definitely does not work for this job.
- Save ½ c. of the crumbs for the topping.
- Pour the remaining crumbs into a 9x13 dish and add the melted butter. Stir and press into the bottom of the dish to make a crust.
- In a bowl, whisk together the pudding mix and milk.
- Set in the fridge for now.
- Blend cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar.
- Mix and fold in one container of Cool Whip. Spread over the crust.
- Add pudding and spread over the cream cheese mixture. Top with the other Cool Whip.
- Sprinkle the ½ c. Oreo crumbs over top.
- Keep refrigerated until ready to serve. Refrigerate leftovers.

This is a silly question but….do you make the pudding or leave it as powder when you add it to the middle of this delicious dessert?
Deborah@luna1058@aol.com says
Omg'oodness!! This looks amazing!! I do have a question though…I would like to know if there's some other type of chocolate that I could use…I really don't care for pudding….but I'd love some type of chocolate…frosting?…even if it hardened somewhat!?!? Open to any ideas….

Kelsey says
OK so I realize this is an old post and you probably won't see it, but I am making it for mothers day and my husband could only find 3.3 oz packages of instant pudding, so he bought 3…(9.9 oz total) should I just make them all and use the majority of it but not all or use only 2 and have a total of 6.6 oz (as opposed to the 7.8 your 2 3.9s add up to…) would appreciate any help! thanks!!
Mandy Bird says
Hey Kelsey,<br />You can use 3, just not all of it or you can go with 2 boxes. It won't hurt to have some extra pudding in there as long as it will fit in your pan. Good luck 🙂
Lisa says
Oh my goodness! This is divine. I made this Heavenly Oreo Dessert for Easter and my husband has been asking for it to replace all birthday cakes in future. 😉
Curious if you could replace milk with almond or coconut? Has anyone tried it?
Thanks for sharing, Mandy!!!
mandyrecipebox says
I’ve never tried it but I’m sure you could. It would be like using skim milk as far as consistency. Give it a try and let me know! I’m glad you and your husband liked it so much!
Melinda Vogels says
I am from the Netherlands and can you tell me what’s a substitude for Cool Whip?I don’ t know what that is and I really want to make this recipe.grt Melinda
mandyrecipebox says
Hi Melinda! Cool Whip is an immitation whipped cream. It’s non dairy and holds up better than whipped cream. You could use homemade whipped cream but it won’t last as long before breaking down so eat it quick.
Tee says
Hi Mandy
Do we use full cream milk? Is the butter salted or unsalted?
I need to make this dessert tomorrow for a one dish party. Looks great!!!!
mandyrecipebox says
I just use 2% or whole milk. I always use salted butter in my recipes because I love it. I hope you like it!
Tee says
Hi Mandy
Thanks for your reply. This dessert was an instant hit with the guests at the party. The kids just loved it, and the adults kept raving about how decadent it was. The ladies kept on asking me for the recipe 😊.
I’m sure going to try your other dessert recipes as well. You have won me.
