Cabbage Roll Casserole

Cabbage Roll Casserole is all the deliciousness of Cabbage Rolls without the work. In 10 minutes you can have this dish in the oven. It’s going to change your world!

 I have a delicious recipe today! It comes from 101 Cozy Casserole Recipes from Gooseberry Patch. You will love how fast it is to prepare. It tastes just like cabbage rolls and takes way less time to prepare.

Serves: 10-12
Ingredients
  • 2 lbs ground beef, browned
  • 1 c. onion, chopped
  • 29 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1 head cabbage, chopped
  • 1 c. instant rice (I added a little more because I love rice)
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 14 oz can beef broth
Directions
  1. Combine all ingredients, except broth in an ungreased, deep 9x13 baking pan.
  2. Drizzle with broth; cover with aluminum foil.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour; uncover and stir.
  4. Cover again and bake 30 additional minutes, or until rice is cooked and casserole is heated through.
  5. Makes 10-12 servings.

    Love this.,….My Mom used to make rolls (She called it Sarma) …but this is way easier..bet hse&#39;d even like it! 🙂

      We call it sarma also. Sometimes with fresh cabbage some times with (kiselu grlvice kupusa) sourcrout head of cabbage.

    I love mexican casseroles! And any casserole with cheese and chicken! My husband loves stuffed cabbage rolls but they are time consuming, I am definitely going to try this casserole!

    I made the Lazy Cabbage Roll Casserole exactly like you said, divine but stirring in between I must be a total slob, thank goodness I did it on my cutting board. So next time, I washed my hands really good and just poked holes all through that puppy like my husband does when he aerates the yard and I did it some more then pressed and made it pretty. I put it the oven foiled up tight @350 for an hour and 25 minutes because we like our cabbage extra soft and it turned out great. I guess I am even lazier and sloppier than you! ROFL
