Homemade jam is the only jam I can eat. Because once I tasted it, there was no turning back to store bought jam. Ever. Especially when this is so easy to make. Strawberries were on sale for $6 a flat. A flat! So I bought some and made strawberry pancakes, strawberry julius, and strawberry shortcake. And this jam. Three ingredients are all you need for the homemade goodness that is this jam. Anyone can make it. So what are you waiting for?
Strawberry Freezer Jam
Strawberries
Sugar
Pectin
First, get this pectin:
Then follow the directions on the back of the package. No cooking involved. Just stirring.
Wash and cut the tops of 4 cups of strawberries (Measure after blending. Two pounds usually equals 4 cups of blended strawberries) and place in a blender. Blend them up to the constistancy you like.
Mix the sugar called for and one package of pectin in a large bowl.
Stir for 3 minutes constantly. Pour into freezer containers of your choice. I save my peanut butter jars and use them. Leave about 1/2 an inch of headspace.
And let them stand for 30 minutes before freezing or refrigerating.

I just came back from the store and strawberries were .99 cent a quart. I only got 2 package. Now, I need to send my son to get more so I can make jam. THANKS!!!
Geri

I love that you freeze it because canning really intimidates me. Definitely bookmarking.

I am so with you on the homemade jam. I first make some about 15 years ago and have not bought a jar of jam since. It is so simple and sooooooo yummy! I LOVE your idea of saving your PB jars to put it in. Genius! I am going to start doing that! Great job.

Very clever idea on reusing the jars. I always just throw jars away! Ugh now I am really regretting that.

I love strawberry freezer jam. I have been making it for years. My mom got me hooked on it in high school. 😉
