Beat together the cream cheese and butter mixed well.
Beat in the egg and vanilla. Add the cake mix and beat until mixed well.
Stir in the chocolate chips.
Roll tablespoonfuls of dough into balls and place on a baking sheet.
Bake for 10 - 12 minutes or until the top is set, but the center is still gooey, hence the name. Let cool on the pan for one minute before putting on wire racks to continue cooling.
Makes 2 to 2½ dozen.
Notes
This is a thick dough so I suggest making it in a Kitchen Aid type stand mixer. Or use a wooden spoon if you are strong!
